Questions

  • I see patients for either one session per week or two sessions per week.

Each session is 45 minutes in length.

  • I work with people on a long term basis, which typically means at least 6 months. People often start feeling relief earlier.

While everyone is different, I do believe meaningful change is a serious investment that takes time and occurs incrementally.

  • My fee is $250 per session.

If you can’t afford my fee, I have a limited number of sliding-scale and low-fee slots in my practice for those who qualify.

Alternatively, I can offer lower cost referrals based on your specific needs.

  • It’s quite normal to feel uncertain! Starting therapy is a big decision and a major investment.

My best advice is to work with someone who is well trained in your area of concern, and who you believe could be a good match for you.

If you feel like maybe you should start talking to someone, that probably means you’re ready to. You needn’t wait until things reach a breaking point - it can start to feel better sooner.

  • No, I do not accept insurance. I am an out-of-network provider.

I can provide you with a receipt called a ‘superbill’ to submit to your insurance as a claim towards any out-of-network benefits for mental health treatment that you may have. Check with your health insurance provider to see if your plan offers reimbursement for out-of-network psychologists.

  • Yes, I am primarily practicing in person, in Pasadena CA, at 117 E Colorado Blvd.

I can also offer virtual or hybrid therapy if preferred or needed, as long as you live in California.

  • I have a 24 hour cancellation policy, which means that you won’t be charged for your session if you reschedule or cancel at least 24 hours prior to your appointment time.

Cancellations made under 24 hours in advance will be charged the full fee.

Please note, insurance companies do not accept claims for missed or late-cancelled appointments.

  • No, I only work with individuals aged 18+.

  • As a psychologist, I cannot prescribe or manage medication, but I can work with a psychiatrist or care team to coordinate your care.

In certain circumstances, I believe psychiatric medications can be helpful and/or essential for treatment to be successful.
